Masaya Volcano National Park,
the market and the white villages

First you will visit the Masaya Volcano & National Park, located few minutes from Masaya, looking down to the still active crater will take your breath away. There is also a small museum dedicated to the volcanoes history. Then you will visit the city of Masaya & its handicraft market, where you can admire and buy at reasonable prices unique pieces made by the locals, more than 150 shops offer all the items made in the area: wood, hammocks, leathers, ceramics, painting and much more. Later we’ll stop at Catarina Lookout and its impressive views, where a refreshment will be served
Then we will visit a ceramic manufacturer in the typical village “San Juan de Oriente”, you can watch the process (Monday to Friday), that is transmitted from fathers to sons since generations. Possibility of purchasing ceramics.

The Mombacho Natural Reserve:
Cloud forest and Tropical Birds

Transfer to the shores of Mombacho volcano, now extinct and covered by lush vegetation. Then a powerful truck will drive you all the way to the top of the extinct volcano. From there we will visit the Mombacho Natural Reserve and its tropical cloud forest, a paradise for nature lovers. Walking through the trail around one of the craters in the most surprising biological diversity, with incredible views to Granada, Lake Nicaragua & the Islands “Isletas” will make this journey magnificent!

Lake Nicaragua and the Islands

Transfer to Lake Nicaragua where your captain will be meeting you. A boat ride in Lake Nicaragua will let you discover some of the 365 small islands ”Isletas”, created by an eruption of the nearby Mombacho volcano thousand years ago, according to many scientists. You can observe the local fauna (monkeys, tmigrating and non migrating birds) s well as a lush vegetation and flora, and the isletas’s inhabitants named the “Isleños”, the community of about 2000 live in simple yet decent conditions from fishing, small agriculture and now tourism too. You do not want to miss this visit!

Kayak Tour in Nicaragua: an adventurous way to discover the Isletas |

You will be transferred from your hotel to Lake Nicaragua. Visitors are equipped with a personal sea Kayak, life jacket and instructions for safety and comfort.
