From Managua, most of
the classical places to be visited are located one hour drive
or less: the national park of
Masaya and its active volcano, the markets and their wide
variety of native handcraft, Granada antique colonial city,
Lake Nicaragua and its small islands “Isletas”,
gorgeous blue lagoons, the Pacific ocean and much more…
We also offer canopy tour and hiking in the cloud forest,
discovering the very active volcano Cerro Negro, and, if
you are looking for something more cultural, visit the
colonial city of Leon, or learn all about coffee, visiting
the whole
process (coffee plantations in the mountainous region,
harvest, and processing plant).
Our day and half-day tours start from Managua; we can also
pick you up in Montelimar beach resort or Granada, on request.

First you will visit the Masaya
Active Volcano & National
Park, located few minutes from Masaya, looking down to the
still active crater will take your breath away. If you feel
so, you can hike up to the San Fernando crater (extinct)
with very impressive views from the edge of the crater. There
is also a small museum dedicated to the volcanoes history.
Then you will visit the city of Masaya & its handicraft
market, where you can admire and buy at reasonable prices
unique pieces made by the locals, more than 150 shops offer
all the items made in the area: wood, hammocks, leathers,
ceramics, painting and much more. Later we’ll stop
at Catarina Lookout and its impressive views, and enjoy a
delicious typical lunch.
Then we will visit the typical village “San Juan de
Oriente” home of the a ceramic manufacturers, the process
did not change for decades. Possibility of purchasing ceramics.
Founded in 1524 by the Spanish conquistadors, the tour of
Granada will transport us back to the colonial times, with
its classical and neo-classical buildings, antique churches
and horse-drawn carriages! To end our tour, a boat ride in
Lake Nicaragua will let us discover some of the 365 small
islands ”Isletas”, as well as their fauna, flora
and inhabitants named the “Isleños”.
Without any doubt, the best one day tour to get a taste of
this country in one single day.

The Mombacho Natural Reserve;
Lake Nicaragua and the Islands
Category: moderately strenuous.
In the morning a
powerful truck will drive us all the way to the top of the
extinct volcano. From there we will visit
the Mombacho Natural Reserve and its tropical cloud forest,
a paradise for nature lovers. Walking through the trail
around one of the craters in the most surprising biological
diversity, with incredible views to Granada, Lake Nicaragua & the
Islands “Isletas” will make this journey magnificent
!
Then we’ll go for lunch in a typical place located
on the shores of the extinct volcano.
Around 3.30. pm, a boat ride in Lake Nicaragua will let us
discover some of the 365 small islands ”Isletas”,
as well as their fauna, flora and inhabitants named the “Isleños”,
they live from fishing, small agriculture and now tourism
too.

The
Mombacho Volcano:

Get ready to climb
and swing through trees!! This tour offers you an unforgettable
experience sliding down from tree
to tree through seventeen platforms and bridges very safely
built, overlooking the coffee plantations. It takes around
2 hours to experience this unique activity.
Then we’ll go for lunch in a typical place located
on the shores of the extinct volcano. In the afternoon we
will visit the Mombacho Natural Reserve and its tropical
cloud forest, a paradise for nature lovers. Walking through

Lake Nicaragua & Las
Isletas
Category: relaxing.
Starting from Granada, you will take a small boat to visit the world's 10th kargest lake and some of its 365 small islands "Isletas". During the visit you will be able to see lots of tropical birds, monkeys, maybe turtles, as well as a the small and characteristic islands covered with lush vegetation, some inhabited by local campesinos, others hosting week end villas for the local jetset. This is a very unique ambience where everybody lives peacefully, in harmony with a wild nature.

Laguna de Apoyo:
A Hidden Paradise Just for You!!!
Category: relaxing to moderately strenuous.
Feel like having a break in a hidden paradise a few steps
away from noisy Managua? 20 miles away from the capital,
a beautiful small exclusive resort located in front of
the waters of the Apoyo Lagoon awaits you. Feel like swimming
in the warm waters of this crater lake or just relaxing,
you’ll love it!
Possible hike in the dry forest to observe howler monkeys.
Lunch included in front of the water in this small exclusive
resort.

STARTING FROM MANAGUA OR LEON:
Leon City and the
Hot Springs of San Jacinto
Category: relaxing.
Discover this historical city,
located 60 miles/90 kms north of Managua. For more than 200
years Leon was the capital
of Nicaragua and is still considered as the intellectual
capital. It also features one of the oldest monuments in
Central America: The Metropolitan Cathedral, built in 1747.
The most beautiful art gallery in Central America: The Galeria
Ortiz Gurdian.
Lunch included in Leon, in front of the Parque Central and
cathedral.
In the afternoon, we will go to San Jacinto, unique for its
boiling mud’s that reflect bright colors and for its
underground springs.

Come and Experience
Nicaragua’s
Most Impressive Volcano:
The Cerro Negro active volcano
Category: strenuous.
Born in 1850, it is one of the
most active volcanoes in Nicaragua. Cerro Negro “Black Mountain” is
the most recent of a group of four very young cinder cones
in the central
Maribios.
From Managua we will head up to the north and from Leon,
drive 45 minutes in a black sandy road in the remote countryside
and reach the volcano in a 4x4 vehicle. A pace hiking to
the top starts up your energy, and the overwhelming view
once we reach the active crater will be the reward you had
ever imagined!!! After a walk around its crater we will hike
down. It takes around one hour to reach the top of the volcano.
A lot of smoke comes out from the crater and different crevasses,
and makes this walk really impressive.
Hiking down is an experience too, walk or run down this big “black
dune” (1200 ft/400 meters) if you feel like!
Drive back to the City of Léon. After a delicious
lunch, a short city tour awaits to discover some of the most
important monuments.
Note: good physical condition required for this tour.

STARTING FROM MATAGALPA, SELVA NEGRA AREA:
Coffee plantations
in Matagalpa:
Beautiful Day in the Mountainous Area
and See
the Process of this Precious Bean!
Category: relaxing to moderately strenuous.
We will drive 90 miles towards north, to mountainous region
Matagalpa, home of famous coffee plantations. Arrive at “La
Cumplida”, large coffee farm and visit with coffee
(1 500 acres), as well as 2 000 acres of tropical rain forest,
and 1 000 acres of reforestation. Typical lunch in the farm.
In the afternoon, we will stop at Sebaco. There is the largest
coffee processing plant in Nicaragua. Pretty impressive,
from one side the trucks unload all the coffee collected
in the plantations, and in the other side the coffee bags
are loaded in different containers according to their final
destination… In the middle there are more than 12 steps
in the process, that you will be able to see and be explained.

Montelimar Beach resort:
Enjoy the
Pacific Ocean!
Category: relaxing.
Spend a day in one of the most beautiful
beaches in Nicaragua located just over one hour drive fromn
Managua. Wide beach
with warm waters and the waves of the Pacific Ocean, large
swimming pool, restaurant with great buffet and many more
facilities… This is the perfect day to disconnect from
noisy Managua.
Duration: 7 to 8 hours. Possibility to spend one or more
nights too.
*HALF DAY TOURS
Half-day tours include: transportation in private deluxe
vehicles, entrance
to the different sites, specialized guide, 1 soft drink or

Masaya Volcano & The Market

First

Managua City Tour
Category: relaxing.
Destroyed in 1972 by an earthquake,
the capital is beeing currently rebuilt. First we will visit
what remains of the
Old Managua before the earthquake in 1972: from the historical
Loma de Tiscapa, you will see the ruins of Somoza’s
Palace, as well as an exhibition of pictures corresponding
to the years 1925-1972; visit the National Palace and its
natural history museum, see the National Theater, old cathedral
and central Park, as well as the new Presidential House.
Later go to the Mercado Huembes (market), very huge popular
market offering all kind of goods as well as handcraft.
Then we’ll discover the new downtown, getting built
a few miles away from Lake Managua and becoming the business
center with major companies, banks, restaurants, shopping
centers and other attractions.
The tour would not be complete without seeing a very beautiful
neighbourhood and having a drink in the nicest place in Managua,
a restaurant overlooking the city!
