Day 1: Arrival - Managua

Arrival in Managua airport. Meet and greet by a representative of our company who will provide vouchers, maps and important information about your trip. Transfer and night in your hotel.

Day 2: Managua – Leon Viejo – Leon City (B)

After breakfast, transfer to Leon City, on the way visit to “Leon Viejo”, this was the first capital of Nicaragua. In December 2000, León Viejo was added to an exclusive list of less than 600 historical and archaeological sites recognized worldwide for their importance to human history. A visit will enable you to get to know a great deal of Nicaraguan History.
On the way stop in a village to try the famous “Quesillo” (white cheese served in a tortilla, with onion and sour cream) and a “tiste” juice made of corn juice). See the way tortillas are made in the kitchen!
Arrive in Leon and accommodation in your hotel. In the afternoon we will go to visit the city (churches, the Cathedral hike the tower to get an amazing view of the city and volcanoes), as well as a magnificent Art Gallery with painting from Europe and Central America, distributed in 2 colonial houses. 

Day 3: Leon – Masaya Active volcano – Handicraft market - while villages – Granada (B)

After breakfast transfer to Granada, on the way we will visit Masaya (just 14kms from Granada). Your tour will start visiting the First National Park created in Nicaragua in 1979, one of Nicaragua's most interesting and beautiful natural phenomena. It comprises an area of 54 km2 with more than 20 km of scenic roads and trails, leading to and around the one impressive volcano and five formidable craters; one of them currently displays gaseous activity and incandescent lava in its interior. You can also visit the Museum that offer interesting history and legends.
Then we will visit the finest Handicraft Market where you will enjoy the creativity and variety of Nicaraguan art at bargain prices. Later transfer to Catarina, this is a small and characteristic village of Nicaragua where people work seedling nurseries, make handcraft and raise horses. Placed on top of a hill at 520 meters over the sea level, present a very agreeable climate, the temperature is between 22 and 27 degrees, from here you can have a magnificent view of the Apoyo lagoon, Mombacho volcano, Granada and Lake Nicaragua., after we will go to San Juan de Oriente, famous for its ceramic arts. Visit a workshop (Mon-Fri), all items are hand made and the “know how” is transmitted from fathers to sons. Eventually arrive in Granada, accommodation in your hotel downtown, free time to visit to visit the city. 

Day 4: Granada City – Lake Nicaragua (B)

After breakfast we will visit the city: The convent and Church San Francisco, now is a historical museum, after we will go to La Casa de los tres mundos: art gallery, and a cultural academy, we will visit Iglesia la Merced….and much more. Then reach Lake Nicaragua in a way you won’t forget: a traditional horse back carriage (“coches de caballos”) pulled by two horses and conducted by a local guide! You will go for a Boat Ride and discover magnificent Lake Nicaragua and some of its 356 islands “isletas”.
Transfer back to your hotel and free evening.

Day 5: Granada – Ometepe Island (B)

Today you will depart to Rivas to take the ferry to Ometepe Island. Ometepe is the world’s largest volcanic island in a lake. The people of Hotel Charco Verde** will pick you up at the ferry (at your arrival in the Island) and they will drive you to the hotel. On the way visit a small art gallery selling paints and items all made in the island by local artists. Accommodation in the lodge, situated on the waterfront, you can discover the island or just relax at the beach.
 

Day 6: Ometepe Island – San Juan del Sur (B)

Free morning to enjoy the island, you also can sign up for optional tours like kayaking, bicycling, island tour or volcano hiking.
Then you will be transferred to the ferry place for a ferry to the main land. Transfer to San Juan del Sur, that is a small and very nice typical fishermen port located at the south west, placed along a bay that overlooks the Pacific Ocean 90 kms west of Granada and 55 Kms from Costa Rica's frontier. Accommodation in your hotel Casa Blanca**, free day to enjoy of the pacific ocean in this beautiful town.

Day 7: San Juan del Sur (B)

Free day to enjoy the beach, different tours and activities are available in the area:
-Discover the surrounding beaches such as Maderas, Majagual, Marsella, el Coco (some shuttles are available).
-Enjoy your time in this pleasant village with its numerous water front bars and restaurants, boutiques and souvenirs, discotheques.
-World-class sport fishing departing from San Juan (please inquire with us).
-Horse back riding
-Canopy tours
-Sailing tours
-Turtles, whales and dolphin watching (according to season)

Day 8: San Juan del Sur – Managua (B)

Breakfast in your hotel.
Afternoon transfer from San Juan del Sur to Managua
Accommodation at your hotel Camino Real 3*sup. Night in your hotel
Note: it is also possible to spend the night in Granada and take a shuttle to Managua airport the following day.

Day 9: Managua – Airport

Transfer to Managua international airport by shuttle to take your flight back to your country.
