This package offers all the best of Nicaragua: 2 antique colonial cities founded almost 500 years ago, their architecture and history; Ometepe island, largest volcanic island in a lake in the world; San Juan del Sur at the pacific Ocean; Matagalpa, the mountains and the coffee plantations; Corn Island, paradise located at the Caribbean sea. The perfect sightseeing and discovering trip if you have enough time!

Day 1: Managua airport-Managua

Arrival in Managua, transfer to your hotel in Managua to spend the first night.
Night at hotel Europeo 2* sup or Intercontinental 4*

Day 2: Managua-Leon (B, L)

In the morning, go for a short city tour of Managua. Then drive north towards Leon, one of the oldest colonial cities in Central America. Accommodation in your hotel located in the center of the city. After lunch, visit the city of Leon, its huge cathedral, many old churches. Free evening and night in Leon, very lively city. Night at hotel La Posada del Doctor 2* or el Convento 3* sup.

Day 3: Leon-Matagalpa (B)

After breakfast, leave Leon, on the road towards north east, on the way we'll visit San Jacinto and observe the boiling mud and thermal waters. Continue to Sebaco, drive among large rice plantations, continue to mountainous region Matagalpa and its fresh weather, home of famous coffee plantations. Accommodation in your hotel Selva Negra, in a hotel room (2*) or a bungalow (2* sup).

Day 4: Matagalpa (B)

Free day in Matagalpa, different optional tours are offered by the hotel such as:
Horse back riding
Walking trails (self guided or with a guide)
Coffee tour
Night at Selva Negra.

Day 5: Matagalpa- Managua-Caribbean Coast- Corn Island (B)

Leave the lodge around 830am, drive towards south. We will stop at Sebaco. There is the largest coffee processing plant in Nicaragua. Very interesting, from one side the trucks unload all the coffee recently collected in the plantations, and in the other side the coffee bags re loaded in different containers according to their final destination… In the middle there are more than 12 steps in the process, that you will be able to see and be explained. Note: local, Spanish speaking guide.
We take the road again, arrive at the international airport. Take a 2pm flight to Corn Island. Transfer to your hotel located right in front of the water. Night at Arenas Beach 3* or Casa Canada 3*.

Day 6: Corn Island (B)

Free time in Corn Island. Optional activities available: visit to Little Corn, fishing, boat rides, beach, snorkeling and diving. Night at Arenas Beach 3* or Casa Canada 3*.

Day 7: Corn Island-Managua- Granada (B)

Morning at leisure at the beach. Fly back to Managua, in the mid afternoon.
Transfer to Granada, the jewel of Nicaraguan cities. Accommodation in your hotel. Free evening in Granada.
Granada is the oldest colonial city in the Americas, founded by the Spanish in 1524. Touring the "Gran Sultana" will transport you back to the colonial times, with its classical and neo-classical buildings, its horse-drawn carriages !
Night in your hotel Patio del Malinche 2* sup or similar or Plaza Colon 3* sup.

Day 8: Granada- Boat tour in Lake Nicaragua & Isletas (B, L)

Free morning at leisure.
Around Midday we’ll drive to Lake Nicaragua. You will go for a Boat Ride and discover Lake Nicaragua and some of its 356 islands “isletas”, a must see. First you will enjoy a lunch in one of the islands or in a place on the shores of Lake Nicaragua (fresh fish from the lake available!). You will tour the islands in a private boat, fully equipped with individual lifevests, and a cooler with sodas.
The islands “Isletas” were formed thousands years ago, after an eruption of nearby Mombacho volcano (now extinct). They are now covered with lush, tropical vegetation, some of them are inhabited by natives, others have vacation houses built on them, and others are still deserted. You will be able to observe some of the many species of tropical birds that live in the islands. The inhabitants (“Isleños”) live peacefully in simple yet decent conditions and dedicate themselves to fishing and small agriculture, and now to tourism too. Return to Granada. Night in your hotel Patio del Malinche 2* sup or similar or Plaza Colon 3* sup.

Day 9: Granada (B)

Free day in Granada and optional tours and activities (not included):
*Excursion to Mombacho volcano, natural reserve with a cloud forest, a very nicely designed trail circles around one of the craters.
*Canopy Tour: Get ready to climb and swing through trees!! This tour offers you an unforgettable experience sliding down from tree to tree through seventeen platforms and bridges very safely built, overlooking the coffee plantations. It takes around 2 hours to experience this unique activity.
*Tour to Masaya markets and the “white towns”, home of famous handicraft manufactured in the country, as well as Catarina, lookout where from you can observe Lake Nicaragua & the Islets, the Mombacho volcano, Granada and Apoyo Lagoon.
*Tour to Masaya National Park and active volcano, where you’ll reach the edge of a still active volcano and visit its small but very interesting museum.
*City tour with all museums and colonial monuments in Granada.
*Visit a very interesting cigar factory.
*Go to Apoyo Lagoon, where a crater lake awaits, with warm, pleasant and safe waters. There is a small private exclusive resort, located in front of the water and including bar and restaurant. Night in your hotel Patio del Malinche 2* sup or Plaza Colon 3* sup.

Day 10: Granada-Ometepe Island (B, L, D)

Transfer to Ometepe Island, world largest volcanic island in a lake. Accommodation in your hotel Charco Verde 2* situated on the waterfront. After lunch, you can discover the island or just relax at the beach. Dinner in the hotel. Night at Charco Verde 2*.

Day 11: Ometepe Island (B, D)

Free day in the island. Optional tours available, like hiking in the rain forest, island tour, see the petroglyphs and more.
Dinner and night at Charco Verde 2*.

Day 12: Ometepe-San Juan del Sur (B)

After breakfast, leave the hotel and the island. Go to San Juan del Sur, typical fishermen port located at the south west, 15 miles away from the border with Costa Rica. Seafood lunch in front of the water, and in the afternoon, time on your own to enjoy the beach and village. There are shuttles that go beautiful beaches north of San Juan to enjoy swimming in the Pacific Ocean. Accommodation at your hotel.
Free evening in San Juan, night in a hotel in San Juan. Night at hotel Colonial 2* or Posada Azul 3*.

Day 13: San Juan del Sur-Managua (B)

Free morning in San Juan. Around 2pm we’ll drive you to Managua (3 hours drive). Accommodation in your hotel Camino Real 3* sup located close to the airport.
(Note: if your flight out doesn’t leave earlier than Midday, you can also spend your last night at the beach instead of the capital city!).

Day 14: Managua-Managua airport

Transfer to Managua int’l airport to reach your flight back to your country ( hotel shuttle).
