AQUA WELLNESS RESORT 4*

Wow! The newest luxury beach resort in Nicaragua is the one place that was missing to Nicaragua’s beach eco resorts. Located in Redonda bay, with its shallow white sandy bottom, and an orientation that is protected from large swells by our cove, it makes bathing in the sandy waters warm, relaxing and comfortable.

ACCOMMODATIONS:

Treetop living in villas:Elevated off the ground the villas were sited to minimize impact on the primary forest and maximize your views and experience of the rainforest.

The villas are connected to the beach and resort with lava stone pathways and wooden bridges that meander organically amongst ginger plants, banana groves, and hillside streams.

Each of the villas is a treetop home for a single, couple or family – individually handcrafted by Nicaraguan craftsmen from local hardwoods, hewn stone and glass and have been built from certified woods and local materials, blending the best of Nicaraguan materials and fine building techniques with contemporary design.

Your bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with teak or slate rain showers, on-demand hot water, and the option of fan cooling or air conditioning. There are three main room types:

The Tree house rooms are single Queen ensuite bedrooms with whimsical finishes – some feature outdoor Balinese showers.

The Luxury suites are also two room suites with a King master – the layout has both the King master and the kitchen/private dining space on the same level connected by wraparound outdoor decks.

The Penthouse rooms are two room suites with a King master ensuite bedroom and a separate living room / private dining space below. Penthouse rooms have a full kitchen and fridge.

Aqua’s facilities include one of Nicaragua’s finest organic restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner, a beachside bar, hearth oven bakery, ocean side yoga platform, and the centerpiece of the resort, a beautiful white sandy beach with chairs, loungers, and water sports equipment for guest’s enjoyment, a full services spa with two treatment rooms (a single and double treatment room). Future facilities include a 150 person conference room / center, and an Oceanside pool to complement the plunge pools found in many of the villas.

San Juan del Sur village

HOTEL PELICAN EYES 3* SUP

Overlooking the bay of the charming village of San Juan del Sur on Nicaragua's stunning Pacific Coast, Pelican Eyes hotel and resort offers a distinctive blend of gracious hospitality, local charm, architectural flair, and community commitment, all within a unique setting that blends harmoniously with the natural environment and local culture.

The main lobby and pool are located 5/7 minutes’ walk from the beach and town’s center.

Note: most rooms are situated up on the hill and are 10 to 20 minutes walking distance from the beach. Most accommodations are accessible via many stairs.

ROOMS:

Rooms: having either an ocean or garden view, these deluxe rooms can sleep up to four people and feature two queen-size beds or one queen- and one king-size bed, large bathroom and terrace.

Studios and townhouses: the private small houses and duplexes are set apart from the main hotel amidst lush tropical landscaping and shaded brick paths, offering space and privacy. Each 1- or 2-story villa has an ocean or garden view, sleeps four to six people, features one or two bedrooms with King and Queen sized beds, a fully equipped kitchen, one or two bathrooms, and a terrace.

Casas: the large private villas are set apart from the main hotel amidst lush tropical landscaping and shaded brick paths, offering maximum space and privacy. Each 1- or 2-story villa has an ocean or garden view, sleeps up to six people, features two bedrooms with King and Queen sized beds, a fully equipped kitchen, two or more bathrooms, and a terrace.

The hotel's accommodations feature environmentally friendly strawbale construction, soaring cane ceilings, exposed natural woods, handcrafted furniture, and regional artwork. All rooms include queen size beds (or larger); satellite television; wireless internet service; air conditioning; an in-room hospitality center featuring microwave, refrigerator, and purified water; private patio or terrace; large private bathroom with hot water; and a full breakfast served daily.

HOTEL LA POSADA AZUL 3*

La Posada is a small, cozy, intimate Inn located downtown San Juan del Sur, half a block from the beach.

We like: very intimate and relaxing place, an oasis of tranquility in the middle of town. Unique in its style.

ROOMS:
Each elegantly appointed room has a private bath, hot water, ceiling fan, and air conditioner. Enjoy the luxurious comforts of 100% cotton linens, plush cotton towels, and quality mattress. To create our peaceful environment of "escape" there is no phones or televisions in each room. However there is a television in a large living room. Wireless internet runs throughout the hotel. Pets (except assistance dogs), smoking, or children under 12 years of age are not allowed in the hotel.

FACILITIES/SERVICES
The hotel has a large porch where breakfast is served to guests. Then you can sit in a rocking chair under a fan and relax, read, swim or catch up on your email. Next to the pool is a palapa where you can enjoy cold drinks and offer a limited snacks menu and cocktails offered to hotel’s guests in the afternoon. Then you can walk to the restaurant of your choice for dinner

HOTEL COLONIAL 2*

Small hotel in the heart of the little town of San Juan del Sur, 2 blocks away from the beach. It is a tranquil place made of traditional brickwork, arches and a tropical garden, set in a relaxing ambiance. From the hotel you can be in any restaurant, boutiques or the beach, within 2 minutes walking distance.

We like: Good location. Perfect for those in a budget.

All 12 rooms count with private bathroom, air conditioning and cable TV, ceiling fan, double or twin beds.

San Juan del Sur: surrounding beaches

MORGAN’S ROCK HACIENDA & ECOLODGE ****

located 6 miles north of San Juan del Sur, set along a beautiful beach, this is the one luxury resort that put Nicaragua beaches on the map.

It has been designed for the traveler who is looking for a touch of luxury while enjoying the adventure and excitement of an exotic and tropical destination. It is a project of nature conservation and reforestation offering Agro- and Ecotourism.

The hotel is part of a 1000 hectare reforestation project and an 800 private nature reserve that hosts a diversity of forest animals including three different kinds of monkeys, sloths, white tipped deers, and an extensive variety of birds native to this tropical region. The property boasts a 1 mile-wide sandy bay. All meals are included at the lodge’s restaurant.

LA ORQUIDEA DEL SUR 3*

Is a new, small lodge located in Playa Yankee, about 20 minutes south of San Juan del Sur, on a hill overlooking the beach.

We like: For those looking for a relaxing place in a beautiful beach, secluded and outside the hustle and buzzle of nearby San Juan del Sur. Best for couples.

ROOMS: There are five specially designed large well-appointed suites, each with a spectacular view of the ocean and a private porch for taking in the spectacular view. Four are on the lower level and a fifth, is on the upper level adjacent to the main house. Each room has air conditioning, overhead fan(s), kitchenette (microwave, Sink, Fridge/freezer, drinking water), and safe for valuables, queen size bed, large private bathrooms, and private sitting areas.

The rooms in total can accommodate 5 couples or 10 people as singles sharing a room.

FACILITIES/SERVICES Onsite amenities: relaxing in the upper whirlpool with it’s infinity edge, or resting beside or exercising in the 50 foot long lower pool, or reclining in a comfortable lounge chair beside the 12 foot illuminated waterfall, or absorbing the tranquility and serenity of the rancho, or relaxing in the fire-pit with its uninterrupted views out to sea and into the night sky, or enjoying the camaraderie of a game of pool with some colleagues in the billard room, or catching up with some new or old friends in the casual conversation lounge, or perusing the books in the library, or watching a gourmet cook in the two storey open kitchen, or enjoying a casual or elegant meal in one of several intimate dining areas.

There is complimentary wireless internet. If you do not have a laptop you may use the PC in the library. The beach is located 10-15 minutes’ walk from the hotel.
