San Juan de la Isla 3*

This new hotel is located in a 160 acres farm of lush green fields, forest, streams and fruit trees, in the east part of Ometepe Island, in a stretch along the coast. The owners converted the old historic “hacienda” into a comfortable lodge, steps to the lake and beach, maintaining the hacienda’s style and atmosphere at its best. Facilities so far include 4 rooms and two cabins and a restaurant.  

ROOMS
The 4 rooms and 2 cabanas are made of stones, cement and rich woods, and count with a/c, fans and private bath, hot water, one or two queen beds. The rooms share a common patio, and the cabanas have a nice private patio and a mini refrigerator. We prefer the cabañas as the rooms and their baths are a bit tiny.

Totoco Ecolodge 3*

Is an environmentally responsible hotel. Situated at 200 meters elevation at the gateway of Maderas Volcano cloud forest jungle, Totoco is surrounded by a natural environment and boasts panoramic 320 degree views. The Totoco property itself comprises 15 acres and includes its own organic farm while bordering the property is one of the island's premier organic shade-grown coffee plantations.

ROOMS
The Lodge offers 4 rooms with a capacity of 2 to 4 people, with mosquito nets, bed tables with lamps, ceiling fans, private bath with hot shower, large private patio with a hammock and views.

We like: For those looking for “eco” life. Laid back and located 2 kms from the beach. 2 nights minimum.

Charco Verde 2*

This growing hotel is located on the west side of Ometepe Island, in a small bay in front of the water and right next to Charco Verde natural lake. It features 15 bungalows and double rooms with air conditioning, private bathroom and double and single beds. It also features a bar, waterfront restaurant with fresh fish.

We like: very good location for this new place located just 25 minutes drive from the ferry, good spot to start all activities. No luxury but a good value for the price. Easy access.

ROOMS
The 20 rooms and cabanas count with a/c and private bath. All cabanas have a small terrace, designed in three different rows close to the water.
